It's been awhile

Time has flown by! It's been awhile since my last blog but I haven't really felt like blogging. Things just seem to be closing in around me and I can't shake it off. I'm looking for a job and so far that hasn't been going to well. The economy is not helping things either! I can't even get excited about Nascar anymore. The racing sucks and the same people win...The end! I'm dropping off an application and resume tomorrow so hopefully something will come of it. It's as a bookkeeper for a small school just down the road from us so that would work out well. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Lauri

My mood matches Jr's weekend

It's pretty crappy! It's rainy, cool and foggy outside and that is how I feel....like a black cloud is hanging over my head and it won't go away. I want everything to go right...RIGHT NOW! I need to find a way to make money while still being able to stay home with my mom and be able to study for my Medical Transcription course, grocery shop, cook for 6 people and run the kids all over the place! I want to head out to the islands with Kenny Chesney and hang out for awhile....let all my problems drift away...LOL. Jake is having some issues at school that I am having to deal with on top of everything! Poor pitiful me huh?....LOL.....I would love to be able to just make jewelry all day and sell it but I'm not that lucky...YET!

I should feel blessed that we have a roof over our heads, food to eat and our health and I am...just wanted to have a bit of a pity party!

I hate the way Jr's Chase has gone. The black cloud that is following him needs to disappear NOW! I find my moods reflecting Jr's finishes..LOL....I'm looking forward to the off season to regroup...Jr deserves better than whats been happening to him on the track the last few weeks!

Ok off too bed!

If only bump drafting was legal!

Uggg I honestly don't know HOW some people get through the day alive! We live in a small town of about 10,000 people with 6 stoplights total! I drive 5 miles each way to take the kids to school and today I would have LOVED to be able to just ram the rear end of a couple of them! I admit I have some road rage going on.....LOL! My kids just laugh at me but I'm telling you if I had the money to cover the insurance rates going sky high and a large 4x4 with a brush guard on the front I'd be making front page headlines.......

Ok I'm over my road rage for a little while....LOL.....

Jake's friend Tommy told me a couple of weeks ago (after a very fast trip to my dad's company party) as I was weaving in and out of traffice in Joplin, "Lauri you drive better than 1/2 the Nascar drivers out there"(lol) I took that as a compliment! Jake told me a couple of weeks ago, after a LONG trip to an out of town football game, "man mom I wish you would have been driving our bus, we would have been home a heck of a lot sooner!"

One of these days I'm gonna get my shot at driving a race car! Not sure if it will be on a local dirt track or the Richard Petty Driving Experience but I WILL get behind the wheel! I can't wait!

Shameless self promotion time!

I mentioned Jordan Essentials and if anyone would like a catalog and some samples of our products sent to them you can PM on the PB or leave me a comment and I'll email you!

I also have a link to my sister and I's jewelry website. We have made jewelry for years for friends and family but now I've decided to go global....or at least nationwide...LOL.....even if you don't want to buy something, leave me some feed back! I like to hear from others and any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!

If there is something you'd like but don't see it let me know. I have beads out the wazzo and I'm sure I can come up with something!

Ok...Laur's infomercial is now over.....now on to the next show!

Cheers,
Lauri

I went to a Jordan Essentials

meeting last night and I am so excited! We have some great gift sets for the holidays and I can't wait to share them with my customers. I started out as a customer and loved the products so much I signed up in 2005 to be a consultant. At that time I was working full time and didn't have a lot of time to do spa shows but since I've had to quit my job to take care of mom I'm able to devote more time to JE. I am working on building my business so that it can help me and in turn help my family. Some days I feel frustrated because no matter how much I do with my business, nothing comes of it. I do spa shows and have nobody book shows off of it and then I go home wondering what I'm doing wrong! I wonder what I'm saying or doing wrong that people don't want to have fun and spoil and pamper their friends and family!

I am currently working on that part of my presentation to find out why it's not effective. If anybody has any ideas or what would make you want to have someone come into your home and treat, spoil and pamper you and your friends and family, just leave me a comment!

Chaos reigns

Almost a year ago we found out our ice maker line had a hole rubbed in it (it ran through 2 cabinets and had rubbed against one of the openings it ran through) and leaked under the cabinet and they warped the floor! Anyway the guy we wanted to fix it was super busy (after the May 10th tornado he was booked solid for months) and he called Friday night to say the guys would be here Monday to pull the old carpet up and he would be here today to replace the floor....well our kitchen and dining room are all one so we had to move everything out of both! We started Saturday and continued to Sunday night! You have to understand that my parents live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch style home and my sister lives with them. Last September my boys and I moved in with them so to say it's crowded would be an understatement(lol) The boys and I sleep in the living room and our dressers and my cedar chest and desk are in there also! So we have since added a very LARGE side by side fridge, a dining room table, a movable cabinet (full of my beads and jewelry making supplies), my computer, printer, china cabinet and a microwave!

Myron and Dustin are now here removing the kitchen floor and replacing it so that we can have the flooring put down tomorrow. It's mass chaos kinda like our lives.....

Hurry up and wait

Ugg I hate when things don't work like they are scheduled to! My mom was supposed to go in for a Pulmonary Function test this morning at 9am. Or so I was told.....my dad went with mom to the dr yesterday and they came home last night and said "they said to be at the hospital at 9am unless Crystal(the nurse) calls at 8am to tell you not to come." Ok....so 8am rolls around and no call so I load mom up and off we go to Joplin to the hospital.....I get her wheelchair out, take her inside and come out to park and my cellphone rings....it's Crystal saying they can't do the PFT til 11:45! She said she told mom and dad NOT to come til they heard from her.......it's too far to go back home and it's too hard on mom getting in and out of the car to go home, so we are killing time til 11:45! We went and got a drink and now we are sitting in the hospital parking lot because it's more comfortable for mom to sit in the van than her wheelchair. The test is supposed to take 1 hour, it's 25-30 minute drive back to Neosho (depending on Joplin traffic) and the kids get out early today for the homecoming parade at 2pm so it will be a rce against the clock to get mom's PFT done and get back home to get the kids....of course Jake is going with a friend to the parade and Justin can just walk across the boulevard to McDonalds and wait on me. Thank goodness I started this blog and I thought to bring my computer with me :D

Lauri
